NFCC Chair taking part in British Firefighter Challenge

THIS YEAR'S British Firefighter Challenge is set to take place on July 27th and 28th and NFCC Chair Roy Wilsher is taking part in the event.
It is an international challenge, which takes place annually and pushes firefighters to their limits. It provides a day of entertainment for spectators, while raising funds for the Firefighters Charity.
The challenges include: stair ascent, hose haul, stair descent, Keiser force, hose drag, hose make-up, container carry and casualty rescue. More details about each of the challenges are available on the British Firefighter Challenge website. there are a number of rules and penalties for those taking part in the event and competitors are all battling for a place on the leaderboard.
This year's event takes place at the Arc Shopping Centre, Bury St Edmonds.
Roy Wilsher is taking part as a personal challenge and also to highlight the importance of firefighter fitness. Below is a video from last year's event to give a taster of how tough the challenges are and to show what levels of fitness firefighters across the UK need to meet.
