CHPK Fire Engineering promises major presence at The Fire Safety Event 2023
21 April 2023
SPECIALIST CONSULTANCY CHPK Fire Engineering will have a major presence at The Fire Safety Event, with the business exhibiting on Stand C50 in Hall 3a. Dr Ahmed Allam, the company’s managing director, will also be speaking in The Fire Safety Theatre from 11.40 am to 12.10 pm on the subject of ‘The Fire Engineering Practice: Attempting to Understand The Big Picture’.
Dr Allam explained: “The fire engineering landscape in which we operate is now changing at a faster pace than at any time before. This is both exciting and challenging. We welcome input from stakeholders, including other engineering disciplines, when it comes to shaping our future direction.”
Further, Dr Allam asserted: “Across the board, our roles and responsibilities are evolving, influenced as they undoubtedly are by advances in technologies and materials, external factors such as climate change and the lessons learned from major incidents like the tragic fire at Grenfell Tower in June 2017. These factors are all influencing new regulations and standards, prompting new ways of working and highlighting the importance of sharing knowledge and information to evolve our skills and capabilities worldwide.”
Dr Allam will address the importance of understanding the bigger picture for the discipline of fire engineering going forward. This includes the fire engineering input into projects and its impact on design sustainability, as well as the future operation of the asset throughout its lifecycle.
Dr Allam joined CHPK Fire Engineering in August last year. He’s directly responsible for overseeing the activities of the business, ensuring Best Practice and providing strategic advice to the Board of Directors.
