Outstanding UK security personnel recognised by British Security Industry Association
03 June 2020
THE BRITISH Security Industry Association (BSIA) has announced the regional winners of the security personnel categories for its 2020 British Security Awards. The regional winners will now be put forward for this year’s awards ceremony which, as reported by Security Matters, is to be held as a virtual event due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic.

Celebrating excellence in the security industry, the British Security Awards demonstrate the outstanding work of the UK’s security personnel, both on a regional and national scale. The winners are those who have gone above and beyond their everyday Call of Duty.
Sponsored by Camberford Underwriting, the security personnel categories have served to recognise the talent, dedication, skills and bravery resident within the industry for over two decades now. Each year, the BSIA is inundated with some truly inspiring entries and the numbers remain high for 2020 despite the widespread impact of COVID19.
Indeed, this year’s regional winners have been responsible for some truly outstanding acts of bravery, customer service and teamwork. Emanating from right across the UK, they represent a broad spectrum of BSIA members and their clients.
Mike Reddington, CEO at the BSIA, said: “Although the world is presently facing difficult times, we should not forget to celebrate the excellence demonstrated within our industry. The industry’s activities are to keep both the public and property safe and together, we are the voice of the professional security industry.”
Reddington continued: “More often than we might think, security personnel are first on the scene if an incident or an emergency occurs. Operatives always demonstrate true quality and professionalism by dint of their actions. This year’s winners are no exception to that rule, and I would very much like to congratulate them all on their remarkable achievements.”
Referencing the selection process for the regional winners, Reddington added: “As always, judging the nominations was a tough task, and especially so as the quality levels are exceptionally high this year. Everyone who has entered should be immensely proud of their efforts and, of course, we wish the regional winners luck as they move forward to the national arena.”
