BCI World 2020 Conference and Exhibition to run as virtual event
17 June 2020
THE BUSINESS Continuity Institute has announced that the 2020 edition of its ever-popular BCI World Conference and Exhibition will take place on Thursday 5 and Friday 6 November as a virtual event, affording delegates access to over 70 hours of ideas and experiences.

BCI World has established its presence as one of the largest business continuity and resilience events around the globe. The event typically attracts a diverse international audience and, according to the BCI, the plan to go virtual creates an opportunity for bringing together an even wider global audience.
The live sessions will take place over a 16-hour period each day, meaning that practitioners can attend live sessions wherever they happen to be in the world, in turn making it truly global and accessible to all. Sessions will be recorded such that those who miss the live broadcast can view them retrospectively in their own time.
BCI World Virtual 2020 is going to be held on a purpose-built secure web platform and will feature global expert speakers delivering insightful, interactive content including plenary sessions, workshops, panel sessions and Q&A session.
There will be a full and comprehensive programme with multiple streams filled with subjects and speakers selected to inform, engage and challenge.
Streams are going to include a focus on key issues including cyber and IT resilience, risk management, supply chain resilience, crisis management, the public sector, the finance sector, operational resilience and a consideration of what has changed as a result of the pandemic.
A virtual exhibition hall will play host to a wide-range of exhibitors, allowing participants to interact directly with vendors via video and text chat, view product demonstration videos and download product information.
Networking areas and group/individual chats will allow delegates to make contact and join forces ‘virtually’, as well as with speakers.BCI chair Tim Janes Hon FBCI said: “BCI World Virtual 2020 is a huge step forward in bringing the global business continuity and resilience communities together in a shared online space accessible from your desk. Delegates will no longer need to choose between equally appealing concurrent sessions as BCI World Virtual 2020 makes every session available in your own time. This exciting concept will provide each delegate with an expanded opportunity for learning and networking.”
