Interview with Mitie

05 December 2019

Mitie deliver holistic security solutions to their customers, including intelligence-led security personnel, fire and security systems, mobile and void, key holding, alarm monitoring, vetting, front of house and more.

Q1) Mitie provides a number of capabilities and services; can you explain what these are?

We deliver holistic security solutions to our customers, including intelligence-led security personnel, fire and security systems, mobile and void, key holding, alarm monitoring, vetting, front of house and more.

We also provide dedicated client security operations centres (SOCs), as well as proactive intelligence and risk services through our Global Security Operations Centre (GSOC).

Q2) What are the trends you are seeing in the delivery of security solutions and how are you meeting those requirements?

The Customer Experience

Many customers want to ensure that in delivery of their security solution the customer experience will not be impacted and still be reflective of their brand. For many, the ‘customer’ is their staff. We provide the best training to all our security teams to ensure they deliver the top service when it comes to safety, but we also measure engagement, wellbeing and a feeling of safety with customers to make sure that our teams are exceeding expectations.

GDPR

Since the new legislation came into play, GDPR has been a key factor for all of our customers. Customers need to know that any data we hold on their staff is stored and managed correctly, with the correct access and use permissions. Additionally, where our security personnel use body cameras, customers need to know that the footage obtained will remain secure and comply with regulations.

We take GDPR extremely seriously and maintain stringent measures in house to ensure that only the necessary people can access relevant data.

Innovation to drive cost efficiencies

We pride ourselves on being a technology and intelligence led business, which is why we continue to invest heavily in these areas, for example the recent acquisition of Global Aware International and the Merlin 24/7 software.

As an intelligence led business, we can also minimise cost and maximise resource with our resource to risk security models, based on using available intelligence to predict when and where resource is most needed.

Q4) What is your message to the ISE audience when you exhibit in December?

We are the largest intelligence and technology led security business in the UK, and we have a number of in-house experts with backgrounds in the military, police, and government bodies. Our experience enables us to deliver holistic, integrated security services all based around our core of unrivalled intelligence, cutting-edge technology and the best people.
