SUPPORTING SECURITY installers and integrators to achieve optimum results for their IP camera installations, barox Kommunikation AG, the specialist manufacturer of ‘switches made for video networks’, is making available introductory and advanced video transmission network training courses.
Aimed at IP camera system newcomers, barox distributor Clear Vision Technologies is offering a ‘free of charge’ online introductory course. The 30-minute course covers the fundamental differences between ordinary data switches and barox switches made specifically to cater for the demands of IP camera video networks.
Subjects covered in the introductory course include setting-up the Digital Management System, ring topology design, easy cable connection diagnostics, active camera tracking, PoE consumption control and port security, etc.
For those wishing to improve on their existing skills, barox now offers online training courses designed to extract the most from video networks and the barox switch portfolio; looking at switch and network security, advanced switch configuration, multicast, VLANs, PoE, DHCP server and firmware.
The in-depth design training addresses issues such as the effect on network functionality in relationship to bitrate and bandwidth settings and advanced device control and functionality, including the set-up of Mac locking, login certification, access control lists and multiple user control cyber protection.
“In the world of video networks, barox is supporting customers so that they can keep up with the latest advances in technology and Best Practice when it comes to network design,” explained Rudolf Rohr, barox’s co-founder and managing partner. “Configured for systems designers and engineers who install, maintain or repair CCTV systems, the online training explains the powerful functionality of barox switches and reveals many tips for planning reliable video systems with PoE products.”
