barox video transmission products now available through distributor Oprema
03 July 2020
ENHANCING THE availability of product supply in the UK, barox Kommunikation AG – the specialist manufacturer of ‘switches made for video networks’ – has announced that its video transmission products are now available in the UK through distributor Oprema.

One of the UK’s fastest-growing multidiscipline security distributors and a four-time ‘Fast Growth 50’ company, Oprema actively supports security installers and system integrators with a wide range of CCTV, access control, fire safety and intruder-focused brands.
Oprema also offers its customers professional services, such as pre-sales design, pre-configuration and on-site commissioning.
“Oprema is delighted to become a distributor for the barox range of network switches,” explained Tim Duggan, technical director at Oprema. “barox switch products offer many sophisticated features that are tailored specifically for network video and security applications. In addition, they offer many features that other manufacturers don’t, with several barox features targeted specifically at IP cameras. This fits-in perfectly with us.”
Duggan continued: “Our new partnership will benefit both parties. barox has a new UK distributor promoting its brand and products, while Oprema has a new product range. It’s one that fits in a different space to our existing offer. Oprema’s customer base now has access to a new range of high-end switching equipment with the added benefit of the level of service and support to which they’re accustomed. Moving forward, Oprema will be offering system design, training and on-site commissioning services for barox as we strengthen our partnership over the coming months.”
Also commenting on the distribution partnership, Rudolf Rohr (barox’s co-founder and managing partner) stated: “Oprema is a well-known player in the UK CCTV security arena. From my point of view, Oprema is a perfect fit and, with the company being a Milestone distributor, barox offers exactly the right switches and a fully-featured Milestone plug-in. Oprema understands the benefits of software and hardware coming together and IT merging with OT. In other words, it’s more efficient to invest a little more into intelligent infrastructure such that benefits of better cyber security, reduced maintenance costs and less engineering visits to site may be realised.”
