The Fire Safety Event 2024 sets new records for Nineteen Group
28 May 2024
ALREADY RECOGNISED as the premier annual gathering for practising professionals resident in the UK’s fire safety industry, The Fire Safety Event’s latest edition achieved unprecedented success for organiser Nineteen Group.

The 2024 outing, which ran at the NEC in Birmingham from 30 April-2 May, achieved a remarkable 36% increase in attendance and a substantial 27% rise in exhibitors in comparison with 2023, duly solidifying The Fire Safety Event’s position as the leading platform for industry professionals.
Hosting 215 international industry players and drawing close on 11,000 fire safety professionals to the NEC, The Fire Safety Event – for which Fire Safety Matters once again proudly served as Lead Media Partner – showcased the latest advancements in fire safety technology and facilitated invaluable networking opportunities.
Supported by esteemed industry partners including (among others) the Association for Specialist Fire Protection (ASFP), the BAFE Fire Safety Register, the Institution of Fire Engineers, the Institute of Fire Safety Managers, the Fire Industry Association, the National Security Inspectorate and the Security Systems and Alarms Inspection Board, The Fire Safety Event garnered fantastic backing from myriad key stakeholders.
The notable increase in international participation this year perfectly underscores The Fire Safety Event’s growing global influence and its potential to attract an even broader audience in times ahead.
Raising the bar
Tristan Norman, Group event director at Nineteen Group, informed Fire Safety Matters: “This year’s edition of The Fire Safety Event has raised the bar for industry showcases. The remarkable exhibitor backing, with an impressive 96% rebooking on-site before the NEC’s doors closed on the final day, absolutely underscores the show’s unmatched standing within the fire safety sector.”
The Fire Safety Event 2024 featured several highlights, including the debut of WorldSkills UK, which brought forward a fully immersive and interactive zone dedicated to nurturing the talents of future engineers. Hosting the national qualifiers on-site raised the standard for apprentices to excel in their careers.
The Fire Leaders Summit offered crucial insights into legislative updates and strategic considerations. The Innovation and Compliance Theatre provided a platform for delegates to remain abreast of industry trends and regulation, with the ASFP’s Passive Fire Experience once again showcasing innovative virtual reality-centred training methods.
Exhibitors showcased their latest products and innovations, further cementing The Fire Safety Event’s reputation as a must-attend proposition.
The Fire Safety Event in 2025
Understandably, anticipation is now high for next year’s edition of The Fire Safety Event, which is moving to Hall 4 at the NEC in order to accommodate the increased demand from exhibitors and visitors alike.
There are firm expectations of continued growth and an enhanced level of international participation.
