Nullifire focuses on technical support for passive fire protection solutions

04 August 2022

FOR CLOSE on five decades now, Nullifire – previously known as Firetherm here in the UK – has developed and manufactured intumescent and fire stopping solutions that have placed the business at the forefront of ‘smart’ passive fire protection. Across all touchpoints, Nullifire’s myriad clients can access technical expertise as part of a complete support package.

In addition to “exceptional” technical input, the business offers the reassurance of a long-standing programme of rigorous testing protocols in order to deliver complete peace of mind for specifiers, developers and installers alike.

The brand recently launched a campaign entitled ‘It’s All About’ to showcase its credentials in the field of technical support and testing. That campaign has highlighted how Nullifire’s products are tested extensively by third parties alongside the brand’s in-house technical (R&D) team and fully certified for a range of fire protection needs.

Already this year, circa 120 practitioners have attended the company’s highly focused technical training programme. Aimed at installers and applicators, the programme is part of the wider learning and development opportunities from Nullifire that includes Continuing Professional Development and a variety of targeted sessions, all delivered as part of its policy of educating the industry.

Fire tests

Thousands of fire tests have also been conducted over the lifetime of the company, with a new focus and process in place to allow planned testing on a monthly cycle based on customers’ requests and feedback. This is designed to extend the product field of application and also afford Nullifire’s customers the information/certifications and confidence they need to keep people and buildings safe from fire.

Nullifire’s sales director Gary Pullinger told Fire Safety Matters: “Along with exceptional products, Nullifire is very much about Best-in-Class technical service, which is delivered by a team of people who are totally committed to the highest levels of knowledge and industry understanding and who benefit from continuous investment to support them in their roles.”

Pullinger continued: “We’ve made significant investment in this area of the business over the last few years and received very positive feedback from the industry in general. On the product side, our pioneering traceability technologies Optifire and Optifire+ offer guaranteed traceability of the applied Nullifire product once installed.”

He added: “Of late, we have also been promoting some of our best-sellers, including the recently launched FS719 HP Blue for CPVC, which is a sealant developed specifically for Blazemaster pipework with FBC approvals, and also FS709 Intumescent Sealant. This is a high expansion/pressure exerting graphite intumescent sealant.”

Performance and compliance

Nullifire’s intumescent and fire stopping solutions can show a track record of performance and compliance. In addition to technical assistance both on and off site, Nullifire’s continuous support includes initial product training, site solutions, a specification service and inspections.

Support is also offered for the long-term in areas including advice on maintenance schedules and even remedial work for damaged areas.

Nullifire is a CPG (UK) brand along with TREMCO, Flowcrete, illbruck, Dryvit and Nudura. Taken together, these brands cover a wide array of different construction needs and provide a wealth of complex services, support and systems.
