Nullifire brings product traceability to UK’s fire protection industry
11 December 2020
“PIONEERING TECHNOLOGY” providing traceability as standard across Nullifire’s intumescent steel coatings range has been launched for practitioners operating within the construction sector.

Optifire+ is a pigment that’s impossible to manipulate, offering a guaranteed source of quality to deliver new levels of assurance to architects, main contractors and specifiers.
The technology represents an important step forward in Nullifire’s approach to manufacturing next generation products which help support the increasing demands from Building Regulations for effective fire safety strategies across commercial and residential build projects.
Nullifire’s sales director Gary Pullinger observed: “As a product identification tool, Optifire+ doesn’t change the way in which the range of Nullifire intumescent coatings works. Instead, it acts as an incentive to ensure that products are used and applied correctly. The technology means we can be sure, at any time after a project has been completed, that the product specified is that which is installed on site.”
Part of the Construction Products Group portfolio of brands, Nullifire’s technical support teams across the UK will be able to identify the company’s range of intumescent paints via the traceability tool. Manufactured within the UK, Nullifire’s products have been tested extensively by third party organisations and fully certified for a range of fire protection needs.
Pullinger added: “With Optifire + technology being invisible to the naked eye, this change isn’t one that will affect performance or product aesthetics. However, what it will do is give applicators, contractors and specifiers alike the confidence of product traceability at all stages of the construction process.”
