National Security Inspectorate launches upgraded website for industry practitioners
11 November 2020
THE NATIONAL Security Inspectorate (NSI), the UKAS-accredited certification body dedicated to serving companies operating within the security and fire safety sectors, has launched a redesigned and upgraded website.
The primary aim of the website’s new look is to steer the commercial buyers of security and fire safety services towards relevant information and enable them to easily connect with the NSI’s range of independently approved providers for the services they seek.
The site’s redesign provides a number of practical enhancements including full optimisation for mobile and tablet use as well as desktop users, greater explanation of the reassurance that independent certification sought through the NSI provides, ‘at-a-glance’ menus highlighting the wide range of services provided by NSI approved companies and new ‘Frequently Asked Questions’ to further assist commercial buyers and those seeking certification.
Importantly, the website features an upgraded and user-friendly search functionality for those looking to ‘Find an NSI approved company’, with prominent links from almost every page. The new ‘Quick and Advanced Search’ options enable site visitors to drill down to a specific service (for example detector-activated CCTV, keyholding and alarm response services, close protection, security dog handling services and life safety-focused fire risk assessment).
This new search functionality enables NSI approved companies’ credentials to be verified by prospective buyers in just a few clicks, with the added functionality including the ability for users to download their search results of approved companies and share via social media.
Detail on certification
Individual companies listed in the results of a search can also be saved as ‘favourites’ by using the star function, and may then be accessed from the top of the Home Page when the user revisits the site.
For approved companies and those within the sector considering certification, the new platform provides information on the certification process itself, in addition to the NSI’s wide range of certification schemes and the training courses presently on offer.
Speaking about the organisation’s new website, the NSI’s CEO Richard Jenkins commented: “We’re very pleased to launch this newly refreshed and responsive website which aims to provide practical guidance to those seeking trusted and competent security and fire safety providers for their workplaces.”
Jenkins added: “With over 1,800 independently approved companies undergoing a rigorous NSI audit programme every year, this new site is part of our wider commitment to raising standards within the sector and helping to ensure those seeking security and fire safety services can easily source reputable companies in their local area.”
