Fire Safety Matters named finalist in three categories for 2022 PPA Independent Publisher Awards

18 October 2022

FIRE SAFETY Matters – the magazine wholly dedicated to the betterment and progression of the UK’s fire sector – has been nominated as a finalist in three separate categories for this year’s PPA Independent Publisher Awards.

The magazine has been shortlisted for Business Publication of the Year, Media Brand of the Year and Commercial Partnership of the Year. The latter is in conjunction with the Fire Industry Association (FIA) and recognises the 2021-2022 edition of the Guide to the UK Fire Safety Industry. This inaugural edition of what is an ongoing annual publication was produced in partnership between the FIA and Fire Safety Matters/Western Business Media.

On that note, Western Business Media has been named as a finalist in the PPA Independent Publisher Awards for 2022 within the Independent Publishing Company of the Year category.

The PPA Independent Publisher Awards recognise and celebrate “exceptional” publications, individuals and businesses within the UK’s independent publishing sector who’ve delivered “standout work” and “made a difference” in their operational sector across the last 12 months.

The rigorous judging process, expert judging panel and high standard of diverse entries ensures that truly standout winners are celebrated and cements the PPA Independent Publisher Awards as “the industry recognition” for which B2B publishing companies should aim.

Brian Sims, the Editor of Fire Safety Matters, commented: “I’m extremely proud of the fact that Fire Safety Matters has been named as a shortlisted finalist in three categories for these hugely prestigious awards. It’s a tremendous honour. Thank You so much to all of our readers, contributors and commercial partners for their ongoing and highly valued support.”

In addition, Sims stated: “We would like to sincerely thank the FIA for choosing to partner with us on its annual Guide to the UK Fire Safety Industry. The inaugural edition really is a ‘must-read’ for all sector practitioners. We’re currently working on the 2022-2023 publication, which will be available to view online and in print from November.”

The winners of the 2022 PPA Independent Publisher Awards will be announced during a lunchtime awards ceremony to be held at etc.venues, 133 Houndsditch, Liverpool Street on Friday 25 November.
