Record attendance anticipated for 24th International Water Mist Conference
17 July 2025
THE FINALISED programme for the 24th iteration of the International Water Mist Conference (IWMC) has now been released. Further to this, organiser the International Water Mist Association (IWMA) is pleased to announce that pre-registrations are pointing towards the largest number of participants for this event to date.

The event will take place in Manchester on 24-25 September. For the first time in the IWMA’s history, conference will span two full days, duly reflecting the continued growth and maturity of the water mist industry.
Max Lakkonen, president of the IWMA, commented: “I’m really pleased with the strength of this year’s programme and the interest it has generated. The IWMC 2025 will be a great opportunity to demonstrate that water mist is gaining ground across multiple sectors and increasingly being recognised as a standardised, effective and environmentally sound fire protection technology.”
As the IWMA approaches its 30th Anniversary, the organisation is also witnessing the development of the industry on many fronts: from wider acceptance in key markets through to stronger engagement with decision-makers and standardisation bodies.
Continuing Professional Development
This year, the IWMA will issue Continuing Professional Development certificates to all participants, thereby ensuring that conference offers both professional development opportunities and networking value.
Lakkonen added: “We warmly invite everyone with an interest in water mist technology – whether they be system designers, manufacturers, installers, fire safety consultants or regulators – to join us in Manchester. This event brings together the entire global water mist community.”
The programme, which features upwards of 25 expert speakers from around the world, is now available to view online at www.iwma.net/iwmc
