Quelfire confirms participation at London Build Fire and Security Expo 2024
04 November 2024
PASSIVE FIRE protection solutions developer Quelfire will be exhibiting at the 2024 edition of the London Build Fire and Security Expo, which runs on 20-21 November at Olympia’s National Hall.

Due to substantial growth, the London Build Fire and Security Expo is now be a standalone show housed within the National Hall. Featuring 100-plus exhibitors, over 100 speakers, Continuing Professional Development-centred training, ‘Meet The Buyers’ and networking opportunities, the show draws attendees from across the UK’s entire construction industry.
Quelfire will be resident on Stand L76 and, as was the case at The Fire Safety Event, which enjoyed another record-breaking episode at the NEC back in April, the company will continue to promote the ‘It’s Your Job to Know’ campaign (which is focused on how products should work if designed and installed correctly in line with test evidence).
Further, Quelfire’s representatives on Stand L76 will be actively promoting the importance of early engagement in fire stopping, the ongoing need for collaboration and the selection process for suitably tested solutions. Some of the tested details on display will be for pipes at angles, busbars and TracPipe.
Understanding roles and responsibilities
In what’s now an ever-changing industry in the wake of the Grenfell Tower tragedy, individuals taking responsibility for their own role on a project is critical. Practising professionals must be responsible for understanding their roles in fire stopping and ‘why’ they must be taken seriously: in short, to ensure compliant designs and installations and, ultimately, save lives.
On the stand, Quelfire will be encouraging an open conversation around the topic of fire stopping. Those involved in the design and installation of fire stopping systems must embrace the part they play in these procedures.
Conference programme
On the Fire Safety Stage at noon during the first day of London Build, Quelfire will be hosting a panel discussion entitled: ‘Navigating Gateway 2 Submissions: Experiences, Challenges and Insights’.
Craig Wells (sales director at Quelfire) is to be joined by industry professionals who worked on Willmott Dixon’s project ‘The Stage’ for a 50-minute discussion touching on key topics such as the Building Safety Act 2022, the challenges and positives of Gateway 2 and any major learning outcomes.
In addition to Craig Wells, the panellists are Graeme Whitty (national product director at Willmott Dixon Construction), James Felstead (director at Child Graddon Lewis), Jeremy Ockenden (technical director for Affinity Fire Engineering) and Tom Hughes (principal building safety consultant with Safer Sphere).
Protecting people and property
Hayley Clay, marketing manager at Quelfire, commented: “We’re excited to be back at London Build, and even more so now that the Fire and Security Expo is an event in its own right.”
Clay concluded: “This year, we're focusing on facilitating conversations about responsibility in the fire stopping arena and the critical role it plays in protecting people and property. We hope the readers of Fire Safety Matters can join us on Stand L76.”
