Aico’s SHPN Roadshows deliver sector-wide engagement across UK
15 August 2025
OPERATING IN partnership with international law firm Trowers & Hamlins, Aico has successfully concluded the programme of Social Housing Professionals Network (SHPN) Roadshows for 2025: a nationwide initiative that brought together housing professionals from across the UK to discuss the pressing challenges and innovations shaping the future of social housing.

The SHPN Roadshows welcomed over 1,000 attendees from 400 organisations across the UK, making a total of 16 stops, among them Stoke, Manchester, Belfast, Dundee, London, Bristol and Cardiff. Each session featured expert presentations and breakout discussions focused on upcoming housing legislation, a region-specific overview, data strategies and Best Practice for future-proofing homes.
Well known for being an expert in the sector, Trowers & Hamlins brought insights to help housing professionals gain a deeper understanding of the legal landscape and its implications for their operations. An in-depth understanding of disrepair issues and fire safety compliance placed the company’s representatives in the appropriate position to assist attendees in ensuring adherence to current regulatory standards.
During the SHPN Roadshows, Yetunde Dania, Dorota Pawlowski and Faye Craggs of Trowers & Hamlins delivered insightful presentations on the recent developments in housing conditions claims, as well as updates on Awaab’s Law.
Faye Craggs, senior associate at Trowers & Hamlins, commented: “Aico has been ahead of the game for a long time. People are now really seeing the benefit in what the company does. When Awaab’s Law comes in from October, it’s going to have a massive effect on the sector. It’s the first time that we’ve had timescales for investigating complaints.”
Actionable data
Aico facilitated discussions on the use of actionable data and future technologies, including Aico’s own Connected Home Solution. The Connected Home Solution combines domestic fire safety with environmental monitoring to provide a remote monitoring platform where users can view data on the fire safety and environmental conditions of their homes.
Temperature, humidity and carbon dioxide-focused data can be used to monitor issues such as damp and mould, allowing housing professionals the ability to mitigate the risks before they become a cause for concern.
To close each session, regional updates were presented by Aico’s various relationship managers, providing insight into legislation updates in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Evelyn Cleaton, events co-ordinator for Aico, organised the events. Cleaton commented: “It was fantastic to see such a strong turnout of like-minded professionals at all 16 locations, all of them actively contributing to great days. The energy and enthusiasm was so good to see and a powerful reminder of how valuable shared learning and discussion can be.”
