Live chemical explosion demonstrations
15 March 2019
THE DSEAR with a Bang Demo Area will be making its debut at The Fire Safety Event at NEC, Birmingham on 9-11 April 2019 and will feature live experiments based on the requirements of the Dangerous Substance and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations 2002.
Roy Smith will be conducting his lecture, based on his very successful IOSH approved DSEAR training course. You will see how ignition sources react with compressed gases, highly flammable liquids, explosion limits and much more.
These lectures and presentations have been planned as part of a safety initiative ran by asecos and Denios, promoting the best solutions for storing hazardous materials at your place of work.
The timings for the one-hour trainings will be as follows:
Tuesday 9 April: 10.30am, 12.30pm and 2.30pm
Wednesday 10 April: 10.30am, 12.30pm and 2.30pm
Thursday 11 April: 10.30am, 12.30pm and 2.00pm
Prior to and after these times Roy (as well as the teams from asecos and Denios) will be on hand to discuss your specific requirements personally and they really hope that when you leave the event, you will be wealthier in respect of knowledge to manage your hazards in the best way possible. asecos' European demonstration vehicle will be parked next to the theatre on stand FS220 where you can meet staff from asecos and Denios to discuss storage solutions.
You will also be able to see asecos' latest product offering for the storage of Lithium Batteries indoors, this is a cabinet 90 minutes fire resistant with the option of charging lithium batteries by means of fitted power banks internally. The cabinet also comes fitted with a fire suppression system and offers the highest standard of fire resistance according to BSEN14470-1.
