Hyfire moves to strengthen UK team with duo of appointments

23 January 2023

WIRELESS FIRE detection and alarm systems developer Hyfire has boosted its UK team with the appointment of Martin Lee (in the role of business development manager for the UK and Ireland) and Richard Williams, who becomes regional sales manager for the South West.

Lee (pictured, above left), who’s aged 47, has worked in the fire industry for 26 years now, most recently in a senior sales role for a well-known global manufacturer. His remit will be to develop the Hyfire brand and promote it to key partners, end users and consultants alike.

For his part, 35-year-old Williams (pictured, above right) will take charge of developing existing Hyfire partnerships in the South West region and identify new opportunities as the take-up of wireless fire technology continues to accelerate.

“Hyfire has developed a fantastic product in the Taurus range and this, combined with the structure of a great sales and technical team, made the opportunity very exciting,” explained Lee, who’s based in Leicestershire. “I see the Hyfire business going from strength to strength as we continue to build market share and become an increasingly significant disruptor in terms of the wired systems marketplace.”

Bristol resident Williams started out as a fire and security systems apprentice before completing an electro-technical qualification. He worked his way up the industry ladder and, subsequent to a spell in an estimating and bid management role, has worked in sales and account management teams for the past seven years now.

“I was attracted to Hyfire by the company’s culture and the fact that it offers industry-leading products backed up by superb service,” explained Williams. “I’m looking forward to building on the company’s established business in the South West and introducing wireless fire technology to more installers and end clients in the region.”

Reliability and innovation

Hyfire was launched as Sterling Safety Systems back in 2007, duly bringing to market some of the first commercial wireless detection and alarm devices fully certified to EN54.

Since then, the Hyfire brand has become synonymous with quality, reliability and innovation in the commercial fire sector. Indeed, the company’s devices are available for Advanced or Kentec panels and are supplied complete with a five-year warranty. This is supported by a dedicated Hyfire Partner Programme orchestrated to ensure the best survey, installation, commissioning and after-sales service combined with “exceptional” levels of technical support.

Hyfire offers a comprehensive range of commercial standard wireless fire devices ranging from optical, multi-criteria and heat detectors through to notification, interface and control units, all of them fully certified to EN54. All products are also fully compliant with BS 5839 Part 1.

Recently, the business introduced EvacWireless, itself a rapid and scalable solution designed to meet BS 8629 for residential buildings over 18 metres tall.

Speaking about the company’s new appointees, Tom Crane (international director at Hyfire) informed Fire Safety Matters: “One of the few positives to emerge from the pandemic is that end users and installers are beginning to appreciate the inherent advantages of wireless fire systems. The continued expansion of our sales and business development teams is a major factor in helping Hyfire to capitalise on market growth. Both Martin and Richard have key roles to play in our business development going forward.”
