Hyfire strengthens UK sales team with Gemma Hand appointment
01 July 2022
WIRELESS FIRE detection and alarm devices developer Hyfire has appointed Gemma Hand in the role of field sales manager for the South East with responsibility for overseeing the rapid growth of the business in this crucial region, which includes London.

A native of North London, Hand has been involved in the fire industry since 2017, working her way up to become associate director of a major fire systems installer. Hand recently passed her Fire Industry Association Unit 1 and 2 Fire Detection and Alarm qualifications and happened to be looking for her next challenge when the opportunity at Hyfire materialised.
“I’ve known of Hyfire for a number of years now,” stated Hand, who’s aged 32, “during which time the wireless fire sector has grown exponentially from a niche technology to become the first choice of many installers. My primary role will be to build on existing client partnerships and establish new ones. I want to exceed the high levels of service I’ve received from Hyfire over the last five years as a customer, as well as help spread the word on the key advantages of wireless fire devices.”
Hyfire offers a wide range of commercial standard wireless fire devices, from optical, multi-criteria and heat detectors through to notification, interface and control units, all of them fully certified to EN54. All products are fully compliant with BS 5839 Part 1.
The company has recently introduced EvacWireless, a rapid and scalable solution specifically designed to meet the BS 8629 evacuation alert standards in residential buildings over 18 metres in height.
Commenting on Hand joining the business, Tom Crane (Hyfire’s international director) observed: “Gemma’s appointment is the final building block in a major restructure of the Hyfire business, which aims to give us the expertise and flexibility we need to prosper in the post-Grenfell, post-COVID era. Gemma has been one of our most loyal customers and biggest advocates, so it’s great that she’s now part of the business.”
Crane added: “I’m sure that Gemma can hit the ground running and generate results. Showing our installer partners how they can use wireless within their projects is a key growth area for us, building on almost two decades of wireless innovation. We now have the right team in place to make the happen.”
