Harold Pradal appointed head of Assurance Services division at BSI
05 February 2024
THE BRITISH Standards Institution (BSI) has appointed a new president for its Assurance Services division. The business improvement and standards company, which partners with more than 77,500 clients in 195 countries, has named Harold Pradal in the role.
Pradal takes on this prestigious appointment nearly five years after joining BSI as chief commercial officer following 16 years spent in senior strategic and operational leadership roles at International SOS and GE Healthcare.
BSI’s Assurance Services division is a global leader in the delivery of independent assessment and verification to standards or audit programmes, enabling organisations to build trust with their customers and consumers.
In fact, the Assurance Services division tests and certifies a range of fire products – among them emergency lighting, fire detection and alarm systems as well as firefighting equipment – to the recognised Kitemark and CE mark.
Delivering tangible value
Additionally, Pradal has been appointed as a Board member of the Independent International Organisation for Assurance (IIOA) to represent the BSI. The IIOA is a Trade Association that engages a wide array of assurance bodies in a bid to deliver tangible value ranging from quality and sustainability through to Health and Safety and well-being.
Commenting on his new role at the BSI, Pradal stated: “I am humbled to lead BSI’s Assurance Services division and excited by our mission to help solve global societal challenges focused on sustainability, digital security and other critical issues like modern slavery.”
Pradal concluded: “I look forward to partnering with the team at the IIOA and, indeed, those teams at other organisations at IIOA with a view towards increasing the positive impact on society that can be realised by assurance.”
