FPA backs Fire Safety Event
08 January 2019
THE FIRE Protection Association (FPA) has pledged its support to the Fire Safety Event, which takes place on 9-11 April 2019.
The FPA is the UK's national fire safety organisation and works to identify and draw attention to the dangers of fire and the means by which the potential for loss is kept to a minimum. It has now offered its support to the Fire Safety Event, which is being held at NEC Birmingham and will welcome more than 12,000 visitors over the three days.
In addition to having a stand alongside more than 450 other exhibitors, the FPA will also be holding a member event at the Fire Safety Event at 13:00 on 11 April. The session will be open to everyone including FPA members and will provide key updates following the independent review of the building regulations and fire safety . This seminar is just one of more than 30 hours of free CPD-accredited content on offer at the Fire Safety Event, which is co-located with The Security Event, Health & Safety Event and Facilities Event.
Other keynote speakers at the Fire Safety Event include Dame Judith Hackitt talking about her independent review of fire safety and the Building Regulations, former New York Fire Commissioner Sal Cassanno who will talk about how the New York Fire Department provides fire protection for tall buildings in the wake of the 9/11 terror attacks, a fire safety mock trial delivered by Pinsent Masons and much more.
Commenting on the partnership with The Fire Safety Event, FPA membership and events manager Dominic Louks said: “ We are delighted to be taking part in the Fire Safety Event 2019, a dynamic and fast-growing industry event, that brings together authoritative content from leading industry experts alongside manufacturers, suppliers and service providers. The fire sector is currently experiencing heightened awareness, so I am sure these three days are not to be missed.”
Fire Safety Event content director Mark Sennett added: “We are delighted to be partnering with the FPA they have been at the forefront of drawing attention to fire safety, especially in the wake of the Grenfell Tower tragedy. We look forward to welcoming their members to the Fire Safety Event and we know all delegates will benefit greatly from the guidance they will be able to offer not only from their exhibition stand but also via our content platforms.”
