EURALARM HAS welcomed Detectortesters – the Hertfordshire-based designer and manufacturer of functional testing solutions for fire safety systems – as its newest member. The company will now become a member of Euralarm’s Fire Section and Services Section.

Armed with over 50 years’ experience in the field of testing, Detectortesters’ product range encompasses functional test solutions for smoke, heat and CO detectors in addition to aspirating smoke detection systems.

The company’s product portfolio consists of the Solo, Testifire, Scorpion and SmokeSabre ranges, all of which ensure compliant functional testing can be easily achieved using solutions approved by all of the leading detector manufacturers.

Markets and opportunities

Companies joining Euralarm gain a unique insight into what’s happening in other European markets and the opportunities that they might offer. They not only tap into the political expertise and understanding of European Union policy, but can also make personal connections with technical and political experts and potential business partners.

Being a member of Euralarm enables companies to gain expertise on standardisation. Members have their voice heard in Brussels and can support and direct standardisation and legislative processes.

Fire Section

Euralarm’s Fire Section monitors and analyses developments in the sector and reviews the impact of technologies on offer. This not only assists members to better understand that impact, but also affords guidance on prioritising actions and tasks regarding standardisation and certification.

Standardisation has been – and will continue to be – an essential platform on which the fire industry can build. As such, the Fire Section closely monitors the standardisation and regulation processes in Europe and contributes to a practical balance between regulatory and voluntary requirements, while also supporting the process for a more agile approach towards standardisation.

Services Section

While maintaining its focus on established fire and security services, Euralarm’s Services Section aims to safeguard new and innovative services alike. Meetings gather together experts who present on various topics of interest.

The Services Section closely follows technological developments in order to guide regulation and standardisation. In terms of standards, the Services Section continues to inform members of any changes and advocacy activities at both the national and European Union levels.
