BSIA focuses on personnel categories in launching 2021 British Security Awards
13 January 2021
THE BRITISH Security Industry Association (BSIA) has launched its 2021 celebration of the industry’s finest professionals, namely the British Security Awards, by opening the regional rounds of the security personnel categories.

With the ceremony due to take place on Wednesday 30 June at the Marriott Hotel on London’s Grosvenor Square, the British Security Awards will celebrate the achievements made by security officers and teams across the UK’s private security industry, as well as acknowledging innovations in technology and business and the career contributions made by long-serving industry stalwarts.
The first phase involves identifying the regional winners and national finalists for the five security personnel categories: Best Newcomer, Best Team, Security Manager of the Year, Outstanding Act and Service to the Customer.
The Trade Association anticipates that, after holding the event online in 2020 due to COVID-19 restrictions, the ceremony will go ahead in real-time this year at the stated venue.
Nominations are now open for all five security personnel categories at a regional level, with the finalists in each going forward to the national stage on 30 June. The regional winners will also be recognised prior to the finals at events to be held around the country.
Remaining categories
Overall, there are 16 British Security Awards categories in 2021 including: Innovative Security Project, National and International Partnership of the Year, Environmental Project of the Year, Business of the Year, Apprentice of the Year, Contribution to the Industry and the Bravery Award. Entries for these categories will open on Monday 8 February.
Mike Reddington, CEO at the BSIA, said: “The British Security Awards is the national event that celebrates the talent and commitment of our industry’s finest. The scale of achievement we see every year from across each sector is remarkable. Our awards enable us to recognise acts of untold bravery, ingenuity in the application of new technology and the successful delivery of projects by forward-thinking self-starters who work in the sector.”
Reddington went on to comment: “After an incredibly difficult and challenging year for the industry, we’re looking forward more than ever to rewarding exemplars for the dedication they’ve shown to their chosen profession. We’re confident that, by June, we will be able to welcome members, stakeholders and colleagues from across the industry at the London Marriott in celebrating security excellence.”

As always, the security personnel categories of the British Security Awards are sponsored by Camberford Underwriting.
