Call for Papers: International Tall Building Fire Safety Conference 2026
13 October 2025
RUSS TIMPSON – founder and organiser of the Tall Building Fire Safety Network – has issued a Call for Papers in relation to the 10th International Tall Building Fire Safety Conference, which takes place on 20-21 May 2026 at Canary Wharf in the heart of London’s Docklands.

Abstracts are requested on any subject pertaining to tall building fire safety. As a guide, key focus areas for the 2026 conference will include Artificial Intelligence, Building Information Modelling, parametric building insurance, electric vehicles, arson and the construction sector in general.
According to the Council for Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat, the rate of tall building construction continue to grow around the world, while the height of planned structures is also increasing. On that note, Russ Timpson commented: “The need for a forum to discuss tall building fire safety is as vital now as it was back at the start of the Tall Building Fire Safety Network. The programme for 2026 is an exciting one. We would be delighted if the readers of Fire Safety Matters could let us know if they’re interested in attending, sponsoring or supporting the conference in 2026.”
Abstracts should be sent to Russ Timpson at [email protected]
Training programme
Started back in 2009, the Tall Building Fire Safety Network has now held International Tall Building Fire Safety Conferences in the UK, the US and Australia, in turn welcoming delegates from upwards of 30 countries.
In addition, the hugely popular training course entitled ‘Tall Building Fire Safety Management’ continues to attract delegates and is now in its fourteenth year. As a result, more than 2,000 building managers have been instructed in the art of fire safety management for such structures.
‘Tall Building Fire Safety Management’ is accredited by the Institute of Fire Safety Managers and recognised by the Institution of Fire Engineers.
Five-day course
In 2026, the five-day course is being run in Dubai (12-16 January), London (9-13 March), Malta (30 March-3 April), London (8-12 June), Cyprus (7-11 September), London (12-16 October) and London (16-20 November). Expressions of interest can be registered online at www.tallbuildingfiresafety.com
Since 2009, the Tall Building Fire Safety Network has realised 3,000 members on its dedicated LinkedIn group, over 1,790 subscribers on its You Tube channel and generated more than 50 Continuing Professional Development videos.
