Camrosh commissioned by OPSS for construction products research
08 October 2025
TECHNOLOGY-FOCUSED strategy consultant Camrosh has been commissioned by the Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) within the Department for Business and Trade to conduct research focused on the digitalisation of the construction products sector.

The aim of this research is to address the gaps in OPSS’ evidence base regarding knowledge of digitisation, digitalisation and digital transformation across the UK’s construction products industry. The outcome of this research will then help to prepare the UK for future trade, particularly so in light of upcoming changes to European Union regulation and the anticipated introduction of digital construction product passports. In turn, this will then support efforts designed to prevent untraceable and non-compliant products from entering the UK market.
The project consists of two parts: a literature review and stakeholder engagement (the latter involving a survey and interviews). The survey is the first part of the stakeholder engagement and it will be followed by in-depth interviews.
Participation will help in shaping decision-making for OPSS when it comes to the development of future standards and regulation in the construction industry.
This survey will also help OPSS to capture industry needs and views to directly inform the research being carried out. This will, in turn, assist in creating regulation that ensures construction products are safe and that the industry is supported in trading successfully.
The survey can be accessed online. Responses must be received on or before 12 October.
