Historic seafront building in Norway safeguarded by Hyfire
18 May 2025
HYFIRE’S WIRELESS fire safety devices were recently selected to ensure the protection of an historic seafront building in Norway. The structure, which houses two shops, office space, storage areas and apartments, was originally constructed in the 1800s.

In order to preserve the site’s historical integrity, the installation needed to be minimally invasive in nature. The local Fire Department was the first to suggest Hyfire’s system as a possible solution as the company has a track record of installing its state-of-the-art wireless devices in historic buildings.
Hyfire’s Taurus system is quick to install and caused no damage to the building. Following a site survey, engineers were able to install 100 devices controlled by Advanced’s MX Pro 5 panel, rapidly ensuring maximum coverage.
Local regulations
Michael Gudbransen, sales and operations manager at Holta & Håland Safety AS (Hyfire’s distribution partner in Norway) commented: “Given the fact that the structure is a protected historical site, installing the Taurus system has ensured the whole building is safeguarded without the need for invasive work.”
The project was completed in collaboration with a trusted local installation partner, ensuring that all local regulations and heritage preservation guidelines were followed. Thanks to the flexibility and reliability of the Taurus system, the entire installation was completed in just a few days.
This latest project in Norway adds to Hyfire’s growing portfolio of historic and heritage sites protected across Europe, demonstrating the versatility and efficiency of wireless fire safety solutions in the most complex environments.
