FireAngel supports Northamptonshire FRS Winter Warmth initiative

16 December 2025

FIREANGEL – THE fire, smoke and carbon monoxide (CO) safety technology manufacturer – is supporting Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service’s Winter Warmth initiative by donating CO alarms to help protect vulnerable residents during the colder months.

Between December and February, a total of 75 Winter Warmth Packs will be distributed across Northamptonshire. Each pack contains a selection of cold weather essentials, including a pair of thermal socks, a fleece scarf, thermal gloves, thermal hat, torch and fleece blanket, in addition to a FireAngel carbon monoxide alarm designed to help protect residents from CO exposure in those homes where heating may be unsafe or used irregularly.

The packs are distributed by Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service community prevention teams during fire safety visits and targeted community engagement sessions. They’re prioritised for individuals living in cold or hazardous home environments, including residents who are homeless, living rough over winter, unable to heat their homes due to fuel poverty or otherwise reliant on temporary and often unsafe heating appliances.

Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service has already reported a significant positive impact from previous initiatives in years gone by, with residents describing the support as life-saving and essential during freezing conditions.

Well-being and safety

Tina Collett, prevention team leader at Northampton Fire and Rescue Service, said: “These Winter Warmth Packs make a huge difference to the well-being and safety of vulnerable residents during the colder months. We are incredibly grateful for FireAngel’s continued support and partnership in helping us to protect those at the highest risk.”

The collaboration supports FireAngel’s mission to enhance community fire and carbon monoxide safety through close partnership working with UK Fire and Rescue Services, supplying prevention teams with trusted and certified alarms and providing vulnerable groups with accessible home safety solutions.

FireAngel’s national account manager Dan Tweddle stated: “Working together with Fire and Rescue Services ensures that we can make a meaningful difference to those who need support the most, particularly so during the coldest and most challenging months of the year.”
