Innovative IoT solutions showcased at The Fire Safety Event by FireAngel
19 February 2023
FIREANGEL WILL be exhibiting on Stand 3A/E55 at The Fire Safety Event, duly showcasing its social housing-focused Internet of Things (IoT) solution, namely FireAngel Connected, to a wide range of fire safety managers, Health and Safety officers, risk assessors and consultants alike.

The company is continuing to fulfil its mission of protecting and saving lives with innovative, cutting-edge home safety technology, and boldly states that: “FireAngel Connected is the most technologically advanced fire safety solution for social housing available in the fire safety market.”
FireAngel Connected offers a purpose-built cloud and IoT-based solution to help social housing landlords monitor fire risk, gas safety, water leaks and electrical appliances throughout their properties from a single remote platform.
Data monitored in real-time can alert social landlords to the status of heat, smoke and carbon monoxide alarms in a given property if triggered or in need of maintenance, thereby eliminating wasteful site visits, the misuse of staff time and costly administration fees.
Automated Artificial Intelligence capabilities featured within FireAngel Predict are built-in. As such, an instant, real-time fire risk level unique to each property is provided to enable active intervention before a fire starts.
Social Housing (Regulation) Bill
The Department of Levelling Up, Housing and Communities aims to bring the Social Housing (Regulation) Bill into law by May 2023. This legislation will dramatically reform the housing sector to protect tenants’ lives and place landlords under greater pressure than ever before to address any identified problems on a rapid footing.
The IoT now allows landlords to deploy a host of sensors in their properties, in turn enabling housing providers to monitor for fire risks and the onset of condensation, damp and mould, all of which goes towards ensuring an holistic resident safety regime.
Attendees at The Fire Safety Event 2023 will be privy to hands-on demonstrations of the new solution courtesy of FireAngel’s team of social housing and specification experts. Nick Rutter, FireAngel’s co-founder and chief product officer, will also be on the stand to discuss what the future holds for fire safety technology and outline the company’s future innovations.
Technological innovation
In conversation with Fire Safety Matters, Rutter explained: “The IoT and Artificial Intelligence advancements are driving technological innovation in housing associations and strengthening the golden thread of information for buildings. We can take resident safety and well-being to previously unachievable levels using additional Zigbee sensors, enabling housing providers to prioritise condensation, damp and mould interventions and increase fire prevention for those residents who need it the most.”
Founded in 1998, FireAngel has since developed numerous safety industry ‘firsts’, deploying over 70 million products for which the company holds upwards of 80 patents.
