Siderise Academy plays host to passive fire protection learning platform
10 March 2025
GIVEN THAT practitioner competency is now very much under the spotlight, it’s vitally important that all construction sector professionals are able to enjoy easy access to high-quality educational opportunities. With this in mind, the Siderise Academy has launched an online learning platform designed to help the industry build its understanding of passive fire protection and acoustics in the built environment.

Featuring Royal Institute of British Architects-certified Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and modules developed under the Association for Specialist Fire Protection’s recognised provider scheme, the portal can support the creation of safe, comfortable and compliant buildings.
Created by technical experts at the global manufacturer of high-performance passive fire protection, acoustic and insulation solutions, the Siderise Academy online platform offers a range of on-demand courses, webinars and CPD modules that are accessible on any device with an Internet connection. These are supported through reading material and interactive assessments designed to test the individual’s knowledge and reinforce their learning.
The content aligns with high industry standards and can be used as part of a competency pathway. Once a course or webinar is completed, users can then download a certificate of completion, enabling them to document their learning and provide evidence that they are taking steps to maintain their competence through continual learning and development.
Key milestone
Elan Penn, training manager at Siderise, said: “Launching the Siderise Academy online platform marks a key milestone in our mission to ‘Go Beyond‘ in contributing towards safer buildings.”
Penn continued: “Both passive fire protection and acoustics are incredibly complex areas of construction. It’s important that industry professionals have the right knowledge to ensure the approaches and solutions they are using represent Best Practice for their projects, in turn supporting both safety and regulatory compliance.”
In conclusion, Penn observed: “Through this platform, we hope to better share the knowledge and experience of our technical experts through even more valuable courses and modules set to be released over the coming year.”
