Lee Haines elected to join Board of Directors at IWMA
31 March 2025
MEMBERS OF the International Water Mist Association (IWMA) have elected Lee Haines MIFSM (sales director at Fireworks Fire Protection) to join the IWMA Board of Directors. The ballot was carried out via an online process, which ran between 11-25 March.

Haines, who has accepted the vote, stated: “I’m honoured to have the opportunity to contribute further to the IWMA by being part of the Board of Directors. I’m committed to serving within the organisation to the best of my abilities and collaborating with corporate and private members in supporting high-pressure and low-pressure water mist systems over more conventional technologies.”
The main purpose of the IWMA is to promote R&D and the use of water mist fire suppression systems worldwide. The IWMA enhances the recognition and acceptance of this beneficial firefighting method throughout the fire safety spectrum, encompassing potential end users and authorities. This is achieved by a variety of activities including the establishment and co-ordination of Working Groups and organising international conferences and seminars.
According to the articles of IWMA, the Board of Directors consists of at least four (and, at most, ten) elected members. During the 2024 IWMA member meeting, Alex Palle (CEO of VID Firekill) vacated his position on the Board after having served for a period of four years. Haines then officially applied for the vacant position.
Unlike the other members of the Board, Haynes is based in the UK. Fireworks Fire Protection is an installer of water mist systems.
