Jo Higgins appointed sales manager at detection solutions developer Patol
29 July 2024
SPECIALIST FIRE, smoke and heat detection products manufacturer Patol has strengthened its sales team with the appointment of Jo Higgins as the company’s new sales manager.

Higgins joins the business from smoke and heat exhaust ventilation systems developer Adexsi. While in post, Higgins sold service and maintenance contracts and refits for smoke control systems.
During her time with Adexsi, Higgins was responsible for the South East of the UK and listed prestigious projects in Canary Wharf and the contract for London Luton Airport among her more notable successes.
Higgins’ experience in the fire sector extends beyond that role, having previously worked on a contract related to fire suppression technology with Kidde and also as head of sales at Warringtonfire, the specialist fire systems testing, inspection and certification concern.
At Warringtonfire, Higgins was based out of the organisation’s High Wycombe test house with direct responsibility for generating, retaining and growing a strong pipeline for all fire resistance testing, along with smoke and acoustic testing. Higgins was in charge of eight testing officers during her four years with the business.
Whole portfolio remit
At Patol, Higgins is tasked with heading up the sales team across the whole portfolio of fire, smoke and heat detection solutions encompassing everything from linear heat detection cable and infrared transit sensors right through to aspirating smoke detectors and thermal imaging.
Commenting on her appointment, Higgins informed Fire Safety Matters: “There’s real potential for growth at Patol and I’m very pleased to have the opportunity to be part of that growth. I’m already involved in site surveys and product demonstrations and look forward to establishing meetings with consultants in due course. It’s an impressive range of products here and I’m relishing the challenges that the new role is going to realise.”
Iain Cumner, managing director at Patol, responded: “I’m delighted to welcome Jo to the team here at Patol. Her experience in the fire industry is an obvious benefit, as is her impressive track record in developing sales strategies which deliver tangible results.”
