Flexible fire barriers from Firefly on display at The Fire Safety Event

14 February 2025

FIREFLY – ITSELF a division of TBA Protective Technologies – is exhibiting at The Fire Safety Event 2025, the Nineteen Group trade show that runs at the NEC in Birmingham from 8-10 April. The company will be showcasing its full range of flexible fire barriers on Stand J75 in Hall 4.

The Fire Safety Event – for which Fire Safety Matters is once again serving as Lead Media Partner – enables attendees to source 10,000-plus fire protection and prevention products and solutions, receive practical advice in person and experience live demonstrations.

One of 250-plus exhibitors attending this year’s show, Firefly will be focusing on its new FB180 ablative batt systems for floor, wall and roof cavity upgrades, alongside the recently launched fire collars.

The potential 11,500-plus visitors to the NEC will be able to see that Firefly’s flexible fire barriers, access hatches and ancillary fixings offer exceptional benefits. These barriers, including the Zeus and Apollo variants, are renowned for being lightweight and easy to install. What’s more, they are fully supported by independent certification, covering a variety of substrates and permitting penetrations to be protected.

Protected zones

The Firefly 60 mm FB180 ablative batt floor system has been developed for friction fitting between adjacent timber joists, but has also been fully tested when laid horizontally across a larger area where a protected zone is required.

Significantly, the fire collars are penetration sealing devices designed to provide high volume expansion and create a pressure seal during a blaze, duly closing off combustible pipes that pass through floors and walls. The collars can be used in conjunction with Firefly’s flexible barriers and the FB180 batt wall and floor system.

Expert technical sales staff and Jason Steer (Firefly’s head of marketing) will be hosting clients on what is Firefly’s biggest stand to date at The Fire Safety Event, delivering advice and support on the various aspects of compartmentation and envelope protection which the company’s product range can achieve in both new-build and retrofit applications.

In addition to chatting with Firefly’s representatives, visitors will be able to gain CPD points by hearing from leading industry experts as well as Government officials and specialist lawyers. Plus, there’s the potential to network with peers including fire safety managers, fire officers, fire risk assessors and end users.
