FireAngel highlights importance of interlinked fire safety systems

10 July 2022

THE GOVERNMENT’S proposals to extend the requirements for domestic smoke and carbon monoxide (CO) alarms aim to achieve greater consistency for all types of rental properties throughout England, but FireAngel – the developer of fire safety products – is calling for more.

While FireAngel agrees that these regulatory changes are a much needed step forward in terms of ensuring consistency throughout all types of English rental properties, the company believes strongly that if the recommendations of the updated Scottish Tolerable Standard were applied to England, Wales and Northern Ireland, then a significant number of lives would be saved.

On that basis, FireAngel recommends the installation of interlinked smoke, heat and carbon monoxide systems throughout all types of residential properties to provide the earliest possible warning of a potential fire or CO event.

The business produces its own FireAngel Connected products. This range of intelligent mains and battery-powered devices features wireless capability. FireAngel Connected removes the need to access properties, with clear alerts, maintenance data and risk analyses reported for each property and device via an intuitive dashboard.

End users are able to integrate data into their existing asset management or otherwise use FireAngel’s dashboard to monitor when alarms are activated, have been removed or need to be replaced.
