FFE completes relaunch of Talentum 16000 flame detector models
03 April 2026
FFE HAS completed the relaunch of selected models within its Talentum 16000 flame detector portfolio, duly restoring the availability of proven flame detection solutions for hazardous area applications.

With the availability of the UV/IR2 Ex d model, the Talentum 16000 hazardous area range is now fully relaunched, offering Ex i (Intrinsically Safe) and Ex d options across a wide range of hazardous applications.
This milestone enables customers to standardise on a single and proven flame detection platform with full confidence in product availability, certification and long-term support. It also reinforces FFE’s commitment to supporting high-risk industrial sites with robust and intelligent detection technologies designed for challenging environmental and operational conditions.
The refreshed range includes the following SKUs:
*16521-00: Talentum 16000 UV/IR2 Ex d
*16579-00: Talentum 16000 IR3 Ex i
*16571-00: Talentum 16000 IR2 Ex i
These models deliver trusted performance with certified protection for explosive atmospheres, enabling customers to standardise on a proven platform across demanding industrial environments.
Built for hazardous environments: Ex i Series
The Talentum Ex i flame detectors combine multi-spectrum sensing with intrinsic safety design in order to deliver dependable protection in explosive atmospheres.
With ATEX/IECEx Ex i certification for Zones 0, 1 and 2, the IR2 and IR3 models provide rapid flame recognition even in partially obscured or difficult conditions. Advanced signal processing helps to reduce nuisance alarms from sunlight, hot surfaces and electrical interference, while flexible configuration options support straightforward integration across industrial sites.
Engineered for certainty: UV/IR2 Ex d
The Talentum UV/IR2 Ex d detector combines ultraviolet and infrared sensing for fast and accurate flame recognition in hazardous environments.
Certified for explosive atmospheres (ATEX II 2GD Ex d IIC T6), the detector is designed for use in Zones 1, 2, 21 and 22. Its flameproof construction, built-in self-test capability and adaptable output options make it well suited to applications across oil and gas, petrochemical, power generation, aviation and LNG facilities.
The completed relaunch ensures improved continuity and availability across key markets, enabling customers to deploy a consistent and certified solution set featuring Ex i and Ex d options, multi-spectrum detection technologies, high false alarm immunity, flexible system integration and global hazardous-area compliance.
“Completing the Talentum 16000 relaunch marks an important milestone for FFE,” affirmed Thomas Codd, product manager at FFE. “Customers can now specify a single and trusted flame detection platform across a wide range of hazardous area applications with full confidence in performance, certification and long-term availability.”
