BSI to host BAFE-focused webinar on latest fire safety competency schemes
20 July 2020
ON THURSDAY 23 July, the British Standards Institution (BSI) is hosting a webinar entitled ‘BAFE SP206 and SP105: Protecting Your Integrity, Minimising Risk and Putting Safety First’.
During the webinar, recent schemes launched by BAFE will be discussed, among them BAFE SP206 (covering the design, installation, commissioning, recharge and maintenance of kitchen fire protection/suppression systems) and BAFE SP105 (focused on the service and maintenance of dry and wet riser/falling installations).
Chris Auger, head of schemes at BAFE, will also provide an update on work continuing throughout the COVID-19 pandemic as well as an explanation of scheme development in general.
The webinar will also feature input from Nathan Shipley (group certification manager at the BSI with responsibility for fire safety products and associated directives) who’ll provide useful insight on the route to achieving third party certification and BAFE registration.
On the day, the topics that will be covered include an overview of BAFE, an update on assessments/work continuing in light of the current situation, why schemes for specific services are being developed, the key elements assessed under both schemes and why they’re important for the industry, the route to third party certification and registering with BAFE and, last but not least, the benefits to businesses of BSI Kitemark certification (including market access).
*The webinar runs from 10.00 am-11.00 am on Thursday 23 July. For more information and to register visit https://page.bsigroup.com/l/73472/2020-03-27/pqg19x?
