BAFE launches consultation over kitchen fire protection scheme
16 January 2018
BAFE HAS acknowledged an increase in market demand for recognised competency regarding organisations who provide kitchen fire protection works by launching a consultation for a proposed fire protection scheme.
In January 2017, a scheme development working group was established, chaired by RISCAuthority director Dr Jim Glockling with representatives from the industry including manufacturers, installers and certification bodies with additional input from insurers and trade bodies.
The proposed BAFE SP206 scheme covers the design, installation, commissioning, recharge and maintenance of kitchen fire protection systems. This draft document is now ready for public comment and BAFE invite feedback on the newly developed scheme.
To download the proposed SP206 draft scheme document in full please visit the BAFE website page www.bafe.org.uk/SP206. Information on how to comment regarding the document can be found here also.
The consultation is live from 12 January 2018 for six weeks and will close on 23 February 2018 at 11:45pm.
