Advanced’s Go panels protect residents in Roscam apartments
07 August 2023
FIRE PROTECTION solutions manufacturer Advanced has supplied its Go single-loop fire alarm control panels for eight residential apartment buildings located in the town of Roscam, which is in County Galway, Ireland.
Fire and security services provider Securecom Claddagh Ltd carried out the project installation, which has involved replacing and upgrading what was an ageing fire alarm system. Intelligent Go panels have now been installed in each of the three-storey apartment blocks.
The panels are located near the front door of each building in order to cover the hallways and landlord areas. They are hard-wire integrated with Apollo detectors and CSL’s fire-specific remote monitoring communication devices that ‘talk’ to an Alarm Receiving Centre, allowing the relevant key holders to be informed when triggered.
Securecom Claddagh Ltd has been using Advanced’s fire panels on its projects for a number of years now due to their ease of programming and standardisation across sites. There’s also effective technical support delivered by Advanced in the event of a fault or an unwanted alarm.
Same interface
Jason Small, director at Securecom Claddagh Ltd, explained: “Advanced supplies fantastic equipment, which is very reliable and offers the same interface whether installing a Go panel on a small site or using an MxPro 5 fire panel for a larger networked site, such as a hotel or a factory.”
Neil Parkin, sales manager for the North at Advanced, said: “Our Go fire panel features the same interface as our other Advanced fire panels, which means fire and security providers are familiar with how they work. This helps to ensure a quick installation process.”
Parkin continued: “Go provides sophisticated Advanced configuration, but with a single loop, making it ideal for small or standalone projects demanding robust fire protection and real peace of mind. Go was developed so that customers can benefit from the performance, reliability and flexibility they’ve come to expect from our premium MxPro 5 range, but in a cost-effective, single-loop format for simpler sites where networking’s not needed.”
Single-panel sites
Go is the ideal solution for a wide range of single-panel sites, from restaurants, bars and guest houses through to small offices, shops, salons and surgeries. On straightforward projects, Go’s hassle-free installation and configuration save time and money. These panels also make light work of more complex sites requiring sophisticated cause and effect-style programming options as well as false alarm management and reduction solutions.
Go has been developed with the needs of installers, engineers and end users firmly in mind. An easy-fit chassis enables fast fitting, while familiar controls and menus mean that there’s no lengthy learning curve.
Intuitive new configuration software makes programming quicker and easier than ever, while a powerful design checker proves the system will work even before visiting site. In addition, enhanced diagnostics mean fewer faults, faster fixes and better long-term performance.
Cost efficiencies
Cost efficiencies for customers have also been central to Go’s development, duly delivering maximum functionality on a small-site budget. The panel has 15 zonal LEDs as standard for clearer visual indication and delivers on BS 5839 compliance without the need to buy a separate LED zone card.
Compatibility with three leading detector protocols provides wired and wireless options, as well as greater freedom over design and maintenance provider costs.
Further cost savings as well as greater flexibility for site-specific installations are available thanks to a choice of two performance options with a different maximum numbers of configurable addresses.
