Dom Mason appointed project specification manager at Promat
16 October 2025
PASSIVE FIRE protection solutions developer Promat has appointed a new project specification manager to support companies across the South East region. Operating across North London, the Home Counties, Essex and East Anglia, Dom Mason will work as part of a wider UK team that actively supports the passive fire protection specification requirements of construction projects across the country.

Harbouring extensive experience of working within the passive fire protection industry, Mason brings a strong understanding of the impact of recent industry regulations on the construction sector.
Currently working towards the Institution of Fire Engineers’ Level 3 qualification in passive fire protection, Mason will support Promat’s growth strategy as it meets the increased demand for passive fire protection, and supporting information and data, in line with the Building Safety Act 2022.
Working across the South East, a key focus for Mason will be structural steel projects in addition to large-scale commercial units and high-rise internal fit-out projects.
Major change
Commenting on his new role, Mason stated: “The Building Safety Act 2022 has driven major change in the industry, including the need for additional information and support at the specification stage.”
Mason continued: “Having worked to deliver on this change over the last few years following the introduction of the legislation, I look forward to continuing to support Best Practice in the specification of passive fire protection, and particularly so given the level of testing offered by Promat.”
Further, Mason explained: “This is a major benefit for those customers looking for a more harmonised approach that can be assessed for use in a wider range of applications. Being able to provide customers with recommendation details is essential for helping to meet the demand for more tested solutions. I’m looking forward to engaging with existing and new customers as well as meeting up with some familiar faces across the industry.”
Benefit for customers
Promat’s national specification manager Harvey Brown commented: “Dom is a great asset to the team. His experience in supporting specification requirements for the Building Safety Regulator will be a real benefit for customers who are looking for focused support.”
Promat, of course, manufactures passive fire protection systems that are an essential part of building design and help contain the spread of fire while allowing occupants time to escape. Those systems also protect the integrity of buildings in addition to the assets within them.
