Promat expands specification team to meet increased market demand
05 February 2024
PASSIVE FIRE protection specialist Promat has announced the appointment of a new architectural specification manager for London and the South East as the business expands its team. Neil O’Sullivan will work with companies across the region to offer support in the correct specification of passive fire protection for both new buildings and renovation projects.

Bringing a wealth of experience in technical specification support to the role, O’Sullivan joins Promat from Rockwool. He has specialised in products that are essential to the insulation and protection of buildings for more than two decades now.
In his new role, O’Sullivan will support architects and contractors by offering expert technical advice and solutions for passive fire protection, including the development of bespoke engineered solutions to meet specific project demands.
This will include ensuring that building projects meet the latest fire and building safety-related regulations and standards.
Early specification
O’Sullivan commented: “This is an interesting time for the passive fire protection industry, with an increased emphasis on the need for early specification. I’m looking forward to working with architects, specifiers and contractors to ensure that their project targets are supported by the highest quality passive fire protection systems that make buildings as safe as possible.”
In addition, O’Sullican explained: “As part of The Etex Group, Promat sets a high standard both in terms of its products and company values. Covering London and the South East, I’m ready for the challenges that will be presented by a diverse and busy portfolio of projects.”
Technical and design support
Promat manufactures fire protective boards and provides a wide range of passive fire and insulation solutions for the construction industry.
O’Sullivan joins a team that offers comprehensive technical and design support across the UK and will cover London alongside Anil Bangher, Promat’s architectural specification manager for London and East Anglia.
