New Langstone Park Distribution Centre unveiled by Apollo Fire Detectors
26 August 2024
FIRE DETECTION solutions specialist Apollo Fire Detectors is expanding its operations with a new UK Distribution Centre, which is due to ‘go live’ at the end of 2024. The new facility underscores Apollo’s commitment to continually deliver the highest quality fire detection solutions.

Situated in Havant’s Langstone Park, the Distribution Centre is located just 200 metres from Apollo’s head office, ensuring seamless integration with existing production and testing facilities. This proximity will enhance operational efficiency, enabling Apollo to both meet and exceed customer expectations.
In June 2024, Langstone Park was awarded ‘Commercial Development of the Year’ at the South Coast Property Awards, duly recognising its contributions to modernisation, sustainability and providing state-of-the-art facilities for local businesses.
Sustainability and efficiency enhancements
The Langstone Park facility will significantly bolster Apollo’s sustainability initiatives and operational capacity. For instance, the facility features solar panels on the roof and EV charging stations, reinforcing the company’s commitment to environmental responsibility.
Doubling the dispatch space allows for greater finished goods inventory and shorter lead times, while relocating Surface Mount operations within the current premises will increase capacity by 30%, expanding from three to four lines.
Order accuracy
Further, system and process improvements will streamline put-away, picking and packing processes, subsequently reducing paperwork and ensuring order accuracy for customers.
In addition, the creation of 2,300 standard size pallet spaces boosts pallet space by 60%. In tandem, 400 new locations are being added outside of pallet racking for improved order efficiency and accuracy.
