Ampac Europe set to attend FIA Fire Safety Summit in Dublin

14 May 2024

AMPAC EUROPE, the specialist developer of fire detection and evacuation solutions, is taking part in the Fire Industry Association’s (FIA) Fire Safety Summit, which runs at the Convention Centre in Dublin on 20 June from 10.00 am until 4.00 pm.

This inaugural outing for the Trade Association in the Republic of Ireland will enable FIA members to network with fire industry professionals from the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. It also provides companies from the UK – Ampac Europe among them – with a primary opportunity to showcase their offer to the Irish market.

The FIA Fire Safety Summit in Dublin plays host to both an exhibition and conference. The conference will take place simultaneously with the exhibition, enabling attendees to meet with exhibitors as well as gain valuable knowledge and insight from influential figures in the industry presenting at the conference.

Conference will involve keynote speakers as well as highly engaging panel discussions. A range of topics pertinent to the Irish industry will be on the agenda, including compliance and Best Practice, competency (with a distinct emphasis on high-rise buildings and the importance of training and qualifications), battery fires, the challenges faced by the Irish Fire and Rescue Service and digitalisation and technology.

Addressable fire panels

For its part, Ampac Europe will be exhibiting its fire detection and evacuation systems and solutions, including addressable fire panels and a range of ancillary devices.

The company is encouraging fire industry professionals to register on the FIA’s website

System replacement

Of late, Ampac Europe has been working with Clyde & Solway Systems on replacing a problematic fire detection system on board a roll-on/roll-off Catamaran Ferry operating in the Scottish Isles, which was due for maintenance.

With deadlines looming, the challenge was to completely replace the marine fre detection system within a set time such that the ferry could return to safe operation. Ampac’s marine-approved FireFinder Plus four-loop panel offered Clyde & Solway Systems and client Pentland Ferries a cost-effective, time-sensitive and highly adaptable approach to update and replace the failing system.

Ampac’s SmartView GUI package assists the ship’s captain and safety personnel aboard the vessel to identify the exact location via an LED display of any activation or fault.
