Rail Industry Fire Association signposts 2024 Annual General Meeting

THE RAIL Industry Fire Association (RIFA) has issued the timelines and agenda for its 2024 Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Summer Conference, which is to be hosted by Transport for London at 01 Red Zone Auditorium, 1st Floor, 14 Pier Walk, London SE10 0ES on 20 June from 11.00 am until 5.00 pm.

The Summer Conference Programme has been unveiled by current RIFA chair Mick Barnes (who hands the baton to Dan Jackson at the 2024 AGM) and general secretary David Rayworth MIFSM TIFireE, with the timings set to include space for Q&A sessions at the conclusion of each presentation.
RIFA Annual General Meeting 2024
11.00 am-11.30 am: Registration and networking
11.30 am-12.30 pm: Annual General Meeting (RIFA Members are advised that one individual with voting authority should attend the AGM)
12.30 pm-1.30 pm: Lunch, refreshments and networking
RIFA Summer Conference 2024
1.30 pm-1.45 pm: Welcome to the RIFA Summer Conference (Corporate Members may bring up to six people with them) Dan Jackson (newly appointed chair, RIFA)
1.45 pm-2.30 pm: ‘Access for All: Living with Risk’ (Sarah Rennie)
2.30 pm-3.15 pm: ‘Access for All: Sensory and Neurological Challenges’ (Steve Maslin, Inclusive Design Consultant, Atkins Global)
3.15 pm-4.00 pm: ‘A Brief History of the 8 mW Train Fire’ (Robin Hall, Technical Director, Mott MacDonald Group)
4.00 pm-4.45 pm: ‘Protec Aspirating Detection Systems 2024: ProPoint PLUS OP/CO Escalator Mode Function’ (Pat Mawn, Business Development for Major Projects, Protec)
4.45 pm: Closing statements (Dan Jackson, chair, RIFA)

*Spaces are limited to 100 attendees and available on a ‘first come, first served’ basis. The event is open to RIFA Members only.
