Hochiki Europe shortlisted for duo of industry awards

22 October 2026

HOCHIKI EUROPE has been shortlisted in two major industry awards programmes. The company’s ACD multi-sensor complete with carbon monoxide detection is a finalist in the Detection Solution of the Year category at the 2026 International Fire Buyer Awards. The company has also been shortlisted for the Fire Hardware or Software Manufacturer of the Year category at The Security and Fire Excellence Awards 2026.

Public voting is now open for the International Fire Buyer Awards. Hochiki Europe is inviting customers and partners to vote for the ACD at https://firebuyer.com/fb-awards/hochiki-europe-acd-multi-sensor-with-co/. The voting process closes on 29 October.

The shortlisting follows Hochiki Europe’s ACD-focused product success at the Intersec Awards 2026 in Dubai last January, when the company won Best Active Fire Safety Product (an accolade decided by an independent panel of no fewer than 23 international judges).

The ACD multi-sensor is an addressable detector that combines optical smoke and heat sensing with a carbon monoxide cell. Bringing these sensing methods together in one detector helps to reduce false alarms. The ACD is LPCB certified to EN 54 Parts 5, 7, 26, 29, 30 and 31 across all of its 24 detection modes.

The carbon monoxide cell has a ten-year life (dependent on operational use). The detector works with Hochiki Europe’s Latitude control panel as well as a range of third party panels through the ESP addressable protocol.

Product reliability

Reliability is one of the main reasons customers give for choosing Hochiki Europe’s products, both in terms of customer surveys and across the company’s published Case Studies. Hochiki designs and manufactures its detectors in-house and boasts a manufacturing failure rate of less than 0.001%.

Shinsuke Kubo, managing director of Hochiki Europe, said: “Winning at Intersec in January was a proud moment for our Middle East team. To see the ACD product being shortlisted again in Europe in the same year tells us that this detector is absolutely meeting the needs of specifiers and installers across very different markets. Being shortlisted as a manufacturer is equally important to us as it recognises the work of our whole team. We would like to thank everyone who supports us in the vote.”

The winners of the International Fire Buyer Awards will be announced in mid-November. The Security and Fire Awards for Excellence take place on 30 November at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House Hotel on London’s Park Lane.
