Halma acquires life-critical alarm and communication solutions developer Static Systems Group

26 January 2021

STATIC SYSTEMS Group – the developer of life-critical alarm and communication solutions – has been acquired by Halma plc, the FTSE 100 global group of life-saving technology companies.

Headquartered in the UK, Halma is driven by a clear purpose to grow a safer, cleaner and healthier future for everyone, every day. That core mission is closely aligned with Static Systems’ own values, strategy and culture.

The move sees Static Systems joining Halma’s medical and infrastructure safety divisions. The company will benefit from the expertise and international reach of the global Halma, while at the same time maintaining autonomous day-to-day operations of its business and the strong connections it has forged with employees, customers and suppliers alike.

Static Systems’ technology, integration expertise and market presence will all complement Halma’s existing fire alarm technologies.

“We’re looking forward to being part of such a successful and purpose-driven group that can help take the company to the next level of growth,” enthused Static Systems’ commercial director Chris Turner (pictured, right, with Adrian Turner and Lawrence Turner OBE). “Our life-critical alarm and communication solutions sit perfectly alongside those of the other companies in the Halma stable.”

Embellishing that last point, Turner continued: “We have long-standing supply relationships with Apollo Fire Detectors and Advanced. Indeed, the latter provides the majority of our fire alarm panels. Given our own design expertise, project management and installation experience, all of which is supported by a comprehensive service and maintenance offer, we see this move generating a perfect relationship to holistically grow our presence in the fire alarms sector.”

Bill Stoval (pictured, right), the new chair for the Static Systems Group, stated: “Static Systems’ culture of working in partnership with customers to build long-term relationships focused on mutual success provides a platform to invest in and explore new ways of creating safer and healthier environments. We see new opportunities to help the end users of our systems address their challenges through deeper technical integration, with the capability to provide bespoke solutions tuned to specific needs.”

Halma plc employs over 7,000 people in 20 countries, with major operations in the UK, Europe, the USA and the Asia Pacific region.
