Fire and Acoustic Seals unveils new e-commerce website
27 May 2024
FIRE AND Acoustic Seals (FAS), the specialist fire, smoke and acoustic door seals and sealants manufacturer, has launched a new website. The site offers “vastly improved” e-commerce functionality, plus additional features for customers, which include an online login area to view invoices and accounts.

Customers can now find products by name, by type of product and also by brand thanks to the easy-to-use search function and filters. Indeed, the new site offers comprehensive listings for all Fire and Acoustic Seals products, complete with technical information, videos and pricing options for single and bulk items.
Other key features of the new website include:
*a Technical Advice Centre to help customers choose the right products for their project including FAQs, ‘How To’ videos and advice-based articles
*brand filters for own-label and industry partner products providing customers with a choice of specifications, price tags and finishes (FAS, Lorient, Pyroplex, CCE, UAP and Vanquish)
*best seller listings for popular products like the FAS Fire Door Foam and the CCE Applique drop seal
*dedicated Case Studies and news sections
*promotion of the next day delivery service and other delivery options
CPD training courses
The site also harbours a dedicated area for the new online Fire Door Installation Continuing Professional Development (CPD) training course, which will help users learn the correct way in which to install FAS’ Fire Door Foam and Fire Door Intumescent Acrylic Sealant in relation to fire doors.
Learners will receive a FireQual certificate upon course completion and automatically be added to the UK Fire Door Training approved database.
Julian Vollans, managing director of Fire and Acoustic Seals, told Fire Safety Matters: “We knew the old site needed upgrading and view the investment we’ve made as a key part of our business development strategy. We wanted a site that provides customers with a much better and more in-depth online shopping experience, with all stocked products listed in detail and complete with any associated technical information and advice.”
Vollans continued: “We employ technical experts, which is somewhat different to many similar online businesses, so we wanted to emphasise this through a ‘Technical Advice and Support’ section that houses useful information. This is something our team will add to through time as customers deliver feedback in terms of any specific questions and requests.”
Reducing administration
The specification for the new site included the necessity for simple internal updates, in turn helping to reduce the administration burden for the internal team.
“This led us towards selecting a Wordpress system,” added Vollans, “that automatically pulls live pricing updates through from the stock control system and gives customers a login area for selecting invoices following any purchases. I’m completely confident that the new website and subsequent work we will do to enhance our offer will make this an online destination for all fire, smoke and acoustic products.”
