Beacon Fire Protection boosts profits thanks to Uptick software deployment

CUMBRIA-BASED Beacon Fire Protection has increased its profits by around 36% across the last 12 months thanks to the deployment of specialist fire asset maintenance software supplied by Uptick that has replaced the previous reliance on manual processes.

Beacon Fire Protection has been in business for over 80 years, offering services ranging from system installations through to fire safety training. Much like similar companies, Beacon Fire Protection used to rely on manual processes to reconcile the work conducted by its engineers ‘in the field’ with that transacted by its office-based staff. Issues like double handling and having to deal with mountains of paperwork were commonplace and resulted in the business dealing with inefficiencies instead of having the time to focus on growth.
On that basis, Beacon Fire Protection started to look at a dozen or more available software solutions that would allow the company to digitise its work with the overriding aim of ‘going paperless’ and streamlining processes to establish the foundations upon which the team could them scale the business.
From the outset, the team was aware that software introduction would bring about an even bigger change in workflows and processes. There was a keen desire to implement a solution that would afford members of staff something of a head start in terms of addressing these changes.
Beacon Fire Protection chose Uptick’s software due to the latter company’s demonstrated knowledge of the industry. The software ensures that all required reports for BAFE and National Security Inspectorate accreditations are deliverable, while features like the scheduler improve engineers’ day-to-day productivity. In parallel, the mobile app is easy to use and remains functional even when offline.
Since implementation of the software, Beacon Fire Protection’s members of staff have only had hugely positive things to say about Uptick, its team and the impact the company’s solution has exerted on the business.
