Ambulance PAFSS fire suppression system
12 March 2019
FIRE IN road vehicles are devastating if not dealt with quickly. Moreover, the consequences of a fire on board the vehicles used by the NHS ambulance service can literally be the difference between life and death.

Jactone was recently approached by a specialist vehicle conversion company to design a new model of their fast acting, effective and reliable PAFSS fire suppression system for their customer, a large NHS Trust in South West England.
Jactone managing director Craig Halford commented: “Becoming involved with a project to protect NHS ambulances was something we were delighted to help with. As a UK manufacturer we were able to solve a number of problems for the client. These included designing a bespoke cylinder bracket to protect against the effects of vibration and the introduction of a unique solution that would enable the NHS fleet garage to service and maintain the PAFSS systems whilst still in place in the vehicle, significantly reducing costs and vehicle down time”.
