Adexon fire and smoke curtains under discussion at The Fire Safety Event 2023
25 April 2023
ADEXON FIRE & Smoke, the specialist manufacturer of fire and smoke curtains, has unveiled its plans for The Fire Safety Event 2023, which runs from 25-27 April at the NEC in Birmingham. The company is going to be showcasing its latest range of compliant fire curtains and affording visitors regular system demonstrations throughout the three days.
Charles Devenish, Adexon’s managing director, will be giving a presentation in the Innovation and Regulation Theatre on Thursday 27 April. Running under the headline ‘Fire Curtain Compliance in the UK: The Status Quo of BS 8524 and BS EN 16034’, the presentation begins at 1.00 pm. Devenish will be joined by Paul Pope from Global Fire Equipment and Mark Wilkinson of the Construction Products Association.
Back on Stand B25 in Hall 3a, visitors will also be able to inspect life-sized samples of the latest Adexon products. Technical experts from the company will be on hand to offer Best Practice guidance on fire curtain applications, usage and maintenance. In addition, visitors to the show can learn about the company’s value-added fire curtain maintenance and servicing packages, as well as its professional design service. The latter includes site visits, detailed technical drawings and, where appropriate, 3D models.
Adexon Fire and Smoke, which is part of the Cubex Group, offers an extensive range of legally compliant fire and smoke curtains that are third party-certified. That range includes vertical, horizontal and concertina-style fire curtains, as well as an array of smoke curtains. In point of fact, Adexon is one of very few manufacturers to have achieved third party certification to BS EN 12101 for one of its smoke curtain solutions, namely the DH60 concertina smoke curtain.
Comprehensive product range
The company was established 17 years ago and has since invested heavily to create a comprehensive range of products that are ‘Better – Safer – Certified’ in that they deliver demonstrable benefits, are legally compliant with the Construction Products Regulations and fully third party-certified by a UKAS or equivalent accredited certification body.
“The Fire Safety Event at the NEC is an ideal platform for us to demonstrate Best Practice in fire safety,” affirmed Devenish, “and specifically so in relation to fire curtains. We believe that raising awareness through education is the most effective and inexpensive way in which to improve fire safety for the consumer, which is the ultimate goal of the fire industry.”
Devenish continued: “Our ‘Better – Safer – Certified’ promise sums up both our business ethos and our products. Through training, practical advice and thought leadership, our aim is to help increase awareness of the need to abide by fire and life safety system standards and apply them correctly when using fire and smoke curtains. We look forward to welcoming visitors to our stand who will be able to view our products in action and, in parallel, enter into ‘no obligation’-style discussions with our team members all about fire curtains.”
