Drapers’ Hall to host ASFP’s 2024 Annual General Meeting
25 March 2024
DRAPERS’ HALL in London is going to be the venue for the 2024 Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Association for Specialist Fire Protection (ASFP). This popular annual networking event takes place on 11 April and offers ASFP members and guests alike an opportunity to receive news of ASFP activities and hear all about the Association’s future plans.
With teas and coffees available from 9.00 am, ASFP members will then be able to attend the formal AGM from 10.30 am-10.55 am. Once these proceedings are complete, the ASFP’s guests will then be invited to join the meeting from 11.15 am onwards.
On the day, ASFP officers will report on the Association’s performance and activities during 2023 and look forward to the coming year. Presentations will cover technical and business developments, as well as further details of progress regarding the ASFP’s Competency Pathway.
This year’s keynote speaker – namely Chandru Dissanayeke, director at the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities – will speak at noon and provide a detailed update of Government and regulatory progress.
As always, the AGM witnesses the appointment of the new ASFP Council, allowing members the chance to meet with their newly-elected representatives for the first time in the wake of the election process, which concluded on 15 March.
The AGM will be followed by lunch at 1.00 pm, where attendees will have an opportunity to network with ASFP members, officers and members of staff in addition to those industry leaders present.
Detailed updates
Encouraging ASFP members and guests to attend, the organisation’s managing director Mike Ward stated: “With ASFP services and activities continuing to evolve, the AGM offers members and guests alike the opportunity to receive detailed updates on what we’ve achieved over the past year and to hear about our plans for 2024 and beyond.”
Ward continued: “ASFP officers will offer technical and regulatory updates, as well as details of the next important milestones in the development of the ASFP’s Competency Pathway. We will also provide an overview of our new training recognition services and the ASFP Pass Mark.”
Ward went on to comment: “The highlight of the event is always our keynote speaker, and we are very grateful indeed to Chandru for agreeing to provide his insights on the latest regulatory developments impacting the fire safety industry.”
In conclusion, Ward observed: “The ASFP AGM provides you with direct access to ASFP, industry and Government representatives and an opportunity to gain answers to all of your concerns and queries. We look forward to welcoming everyone to what will be another very informative event.”
