Hochiki Europe welcomes 2,000th member to Hochiki Training Academy

Ricky Wyatt of Blake Contractors Ltd was confirmed as the 2,000th individual to register. Like every learner at the Hochiki Training Academy, Wyatt completed his course online in the first instance, working through the FIREscape Nepto modules at his own pace before travelling with colleagues to Hochiki’s Gillingham headquarters for the practical element of the course.

That ‘online first’ structure sits at the heart of how the Hochiki Training Academy works. All courses are free to access and available on demand. As such, customers can build product knowledge without cost or travel.

The online courses are the core of the Hochiki Training Academy and where the majority of learning takes place, but practical on-site sessions in Gillingham are also available for those who want hands-on time with the products once the online learning is complete.

Clear in delivery

To mark Ricky Wyatt’s milestone, he was presented with a hamper by Phil Green (senior technical support engineer at Hochiki Europe).

Reflecting on the course, Wyatt said: “The online course is really clear in its delivery with diagrams and explanations. It’s always good to come in, see the products in real life and receive physical training from system experts.”

Phil Green responded: “Meeting Ricky and seeing him become our 2,000th member really brought home what we’ve built here. Training doesn’t stop once someone finishes their first course. That’s why the Hochiki Training Academy gives members free access to Continuing Professional Development, ‘How To’ videos and webinars as well as product training, which is open to anyone responsible for installing or maintaining life safety equipment.”

Green added: “Days like today, meeting the people who use what we make, are exactly why we keep investing in product development and training.”

Community of professionals

The Hochiki Training Academy has grown into a community of like-minded professionals from across the UK, Europe, Africa, the Middle East and even the Caribbean, all of them working to develop their knowledge and share it with others in the industry.
