SiteNet streamlines commissioning and maintenance with Mesh Analyser
18 November 2024
BULL PRODUCTS, the provider of temporary fire protection solutions for the construction industry and other applications, is enhancing its SiteNet fire detection and alarm system with the introduction of the Cygnus Mesh Analyser, itself a diagnostic tool to aid the commissioning and maintenance process.

The new Mesh Analyser enhanced diagnostic tool, which uses Cygnus technology, aids the commissioning and maintenance process for the EN 54 certified and 100% wireless SiteNet fire detection and alarm system.
The software displays the structure and strength of the wireless mesh network and suggests actions to enhance the performance of the system. It delivers a graphical display of mesh signal strengths and connection paths for each device in the system.
In addition, the Cygnus Mesh Analyser can show the history of how the devices have joined the network and their previous connections to that network.
The software is used by engineers nationwide when installing and maintaining the SiteNet system. It’s also freely available for trained installer partners to install and is easily loaded with the mesh file from the SiteNet control panel. The outcome is a more efficient installation and commissioning process, thereby ensuring installers and end users have a robust and stable network.
Evolving environments
Carl Leeson, head of sales at Bull Products, commented: “We’re delighted to introduce the Cygnus Mesh Analyser to our SITENET range to enhance our installation and maintenance process. Temporary installations such as those established at construction sites are continually evolving environments. The Cygnus Mesh Analyser software will provide confidence in the reliability and robustness of the network.”
The Cygnus Mesh Analyser software, which can be used on new and existing SITENET systems, displays an audit trail of all network events that have happened to each device on the network.
It also shows primary and secondary paths so that customers can have confidence that each device has dual path redundancy. The individual signal strengths are displayed for each device.
As well as seeing the mesh status, the engineer team and installer partners alike can download a PDF report which outlines the health of the network with suggested actions that could strengthen the mesh network where applicable.
System build
SiteNet is an EN 54 certified and 100% wireless fire detection and alarm system, which delivers a reliable and robust solution for any construction site application, from high-rise structures to subsurface rail projects.
The SiteNet range has been extended to include devices designed to be more aesthetically suited, with a professional, modern and slimline appearance for internal environments such as modular buildings.
The range is built on a combination of radio devices operating on a self-forming, self-healing wireless mesh network with multipath network redundancy using channel hopping technology.
